This week, Twitter added a new guide to their growing list of celebrity usage guides. This one is for musicians and artists.
The micro-blogging network clearly would like to fill a bit of the void that was left after the demise of MySpace. They already have a fairly impressive number of big-name musicians that are very active on the platform.
The guide is a sort-of “how to” for building and engaging a Twitter following. It includes suggestions such as tweet for yourself, use hashtags, reply to fans and share your music and include photos.
In other words, be real and be social. Something every brand must learn to do.
Here is the entire musicians and artist guide and here are all of the guides Twitter has put out so far. You may find some of them helpful as a lot of the advice can be transferred to just about every industry.
