Cosenza recently updated his social media world map to reflect December 2012 data.
As you can see, Facebook has gained some ground in Asia since last Summer, but they still have large chunks of the continent on other platforms. Needless to say, it will be very difficult for Facebook to make up ground in China and Russia.
Check out Vincenzo Consenza’s blog for more maps and date on worldwide social media usage.
Original Post 6/11/12:
The Next Web recently ran a story that included the graphic below showing the most popular social networks in many of the world’s larger countries.
Everyone has a story. We help you tell yours.
The map was created by Italian social media pro and author Vincenzo Cosenza and shows us that, despite 900+ million users, Facebook still has quite a bit of room to grow in Asia (and Russia, if you don’t consider them in Asia).
I found it to be a very interesting graphic, so I definitely wanted to pass it along. Be sure to visit Vincenzo’s blog when you get a chance. He has a bunch of interesting articles and graphics on social media.
Just have Google translate ready to roll if you aren’t fluent in Italian.
