With the addition of foursquare, Klout now attempts to calculate a combined measurement of influence across four social network- Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and foursquare.
How foursquare influence is measured is unclear, but in the announcement, Klout highlights tips as a defining feature of foursquare, which is strange because up to now, tips have not been used nearly as much as they should be. I can tell you that my Klout score (which has taken a big hit since I started hanging out on Google+) jumped up 3 points today because of foursquare.
Also today, foursquare unveiled new bonus points that users can earn for habitual behavior. Someday, someone will tell me why I should care about foursquare’s point system, but hey, its news so I’ll write about it.
