Mobile ad specialists Ubermedia recently used their valuable mobile ad tools to collect data for more than just ad targeting recently. Their team measured social, interest, location, and intent signals to develop general profiles for the fans of the two teams, Auburn and Florida State, that were playing in Monday night’s college football BCS Championship Game.

One stat that quickly grabbed my attention and made me want to share this graphic, was that 93% of fans preferred their smartphone to a tablet. To me, 7% for tablets seems somewhat low given what we know about their skyrocketing adoption rate. I suspect if they surveyed the fans sitting on their couch watching the game on TV, the tablet percentage may be a bit higher.
