Flipboard Adds Fashion Week Section

flipboard fashion weekFlipboard, the custom mobile news reader app, has done a great job over the past couple of years, creating special curated sections for major events: Super Bowls, Awards Shows, Elections- Flipboard has covered them all.

The latest special Flipboard section has been created for New York Fashion Week (February 7-14). The special section highlights the news, chatter and photos from the super popular annual event.

Flipboard’s Fashion Week coverage follows foursquare’s launch of two new badges for the event. It is interesting to watch how social/mobile tools incorporate their product features to capitalize on major events. Doing so expands their user base and enhances the experience of their current users. We saw this last week with the social frenzy surrounding the Super Bowl and no doubt we will see more of it with the Grammys and Oscars coming up this month.
