The company was founded in 2011 and has since expanded to serve multiple countries in the region, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and Myanmar.

Grab offers a mobile app that allows users to book and pay for rides, as well as a GrabPay digital wallet for cashless transactions. In addition to transportation services, Grab also offers food and package delivery, and other on-demand services such as GrabMart and GrabExpress. The company has also diversified in to many areas such as financial services, and electric vehicle services.
