It began as a single newspaper in Adelaide, Australia, but quickly expanded into other markets through a series of acquisitions and mergers. In 1981, News Corp acquired The Times and The Sunday Times newspapers in the UK, and in 1985 it purchased Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, one of the major Hollywood film studios.Over the years, News Corp continued to grow and diversify its holdings, acquiring additional newspapers and media properties around the world.
