1923: Hassenfeld Brothers, Inc. is founded in Providence, Rhode Island, by Henry, Hillel, and Herman Hassenfeld, initially focusing on textile remnants.
1926: The company incorporates as Hassenfeld Brothers, Inc.
1942: Transitions primarily into toy manufacturing, producing items like modeling clay and doctor and nurse kits.
1952: Introduces Mr. Potato Head, the first toy advertised on television.
1964: Launches G.I. Joe, coining the term “action figure” to market the toy to boys.
1968: Renames itself Hasbro Industries, Inc.
1984: Acquires Milton Bradley Company, expanding its board game portfolio.
