Valero Energy Corporation is a major American downstream petroleum company primarily engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of transportation fuels, various petrochemical products, and power. Based in San Antonio, Texas, Valero operates 15 refineries across the United States, Canada, and Wales, with a combined capacity of about 3 million barrels per day. Additionally, it manages 11 ethanol plants and a 50-megawatt wind farm. Known for its extensive retail presence before the 2013 spinoff of CST Brands, Valero’s brand was visible in nearly 6,800 retail and branded wholesale outlets under various names including Valero, Diamond Shamrock, and Texaco.
