Dollar General Corporation, headquartered in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, is a leading American discount retailer. Founded in 1939 by J.L. Turner and his son Cal Turner, the company has grown to operate over 20,000 stores across 48 states and Mexico as of December 2024.

The stores offer a wide range of products, including consumables like food and cleaning supplies, seasonal items, home products, and basic apparel. Dollar General features both national brands and private labels such as Clover Valley® and DG Home®.

In recent years, Dollar General has expanded its footprint, opening approximately 1,000 new stores annually.
