10 Saturday Morning Cartoons You Were Probably Watching in 1985

Last Updated on: October 15th, 2023

Every Saturday morning, it saddens me to no end when I see my son watching random Disney channel reruns before soccer practice. Yes, these days kids have many more viewing options and with on demand and streaming TV, can pretty much watch whatever they want, but it just isn’t the same as the good old days of Saturday morning cartoons.

Growing up, we looked forward to getting up on Saturday mornings and watching the lineup of original cartoons and even then targeted commercials and public service announcements that went along with the shows. Kids ruled Saturday mornings and the shows were wildly popular. So much so, that they used to have prime time shows previewing upcoming seasons of Saturday programming.
The glory days of Saturday morning cartoons are gone, but thankfully we have the Internet to help us relive them a bit. Here are 10 of the shows you were probably watching on a Saturday morning around this time in 1985.
