  1. Looking for the average number of Twitter followers, by age.

    For instance, I’d speculate that there is a mathematical average/curve that peaks in the 15-20-something range. I’d guess that the average 15-20-something has about 240 followers;
    30-something ~60 followers;
    40-something ~30 followers;
    50-something ~20 followers;
    60-something ~15 followers;
    70-something ~12 followers;
    80-something ~10 followers;
    90-something ~8-9 followers

    To come up with my crazy speculation, I took 240 (my guess for the highest average number of twitter followers for any age) and divided it by ascending multiples of four, for the corresponding ascending age categories.

  2. looking for twitter statistic for my dissertation:
    1. up to date number of users worldwide and particularly in Australia
    2.tweets pertaining to emergency response/natural disaster

    thank you

  3. Looking for bandwidth utilization by twitter servers and other server related facts. Can you please update it? need it for my future research article on evaluation of social networking websites on my tech blog.

    Thanks in advance
    PB

  4. Is there a way that I can count how many tweets/hour are coming from the people I’m following? I want to find an easier way than manually counting tweets on my newsfeed.

  5. Love these stats. I’m always looking for interesting twitter and social media stats! I must correct one of them however. China is not the country with the most active Twitter users as Twitter is banned. There are however several thousand people that login via remote access webtools but definitely not 35 million as the Forbes article quoted says which is quoting The Global Web index which have a reputation of spinning the truth out of proportion. Like they did with a similar topic regarding Facebook users in China: http://thenextweb.com/asia/2012/09/28/no-way-jose/.

  6. I am doing an assignment for my Information Literacy class and I have to verify this information and none of your stats are linked and there are no resources for this information…soooooo how do I know you are credible?

    • Hi Chasdity,

      Thanks for the feedback. All of the stats on my site are linked to their source unless they came directly from the company. Every stat on this page is linked. Not sure why the links aren’t showing for you, but maybe trying a different browser might clear things up a bit.

      Best,

      Craig
