Kickstarter Facts

Here is pretty much everything you ever wanted to know about Kickstarter.

Kickstarter is an online crowdfunding platform that was founded in 2009. The platform allows individuals and organizations to raise funds for their creative projects, which can include everything from independent films to video games to art installations.

The way Kickstarter works is that creators create a project page on the platform, where they outline their project and set a funding goal. They can then offer rewards to backers who contribute to the project, such as early access to the finished product or exclusive merchandise.

If the project reaches its funding goal within a set timeframe, the funds are released to the creator, and they can begin work on their project. If the project does not reach its funding goal, no money is collected from backers, and the project is not funded.

Kickstarter has become a popular platform for creative individuals and small businesses who may have difficulty securing traditional funding for their projects. It has also been used to launch successful projects that have gone on to become commercial products, such as the Pebble smartwatch and the Exploding Kittens card game.
