The airline industry has been heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain issues, the cost of oil and hiring challenges, with a sharp decrease in passenger traffic and revenue in recent years. According to recent data, global air passenger traffic declined by 60% in 2020 compared to the previous year. This has resulted in significant financial losses for airlines, with many companies reporting billions of dollars in losses and cutting back on routes and services. Despite the challenges, many airlines have rebounded a bit in the past year or so and the industry as a whole is seemingly on the path to recovery.

Here is a collection of some of the most interesting airline statistics and fun facts I have stumbled across in my internet travels. Posts here cover both individual companies as well as the industry as a whole.
