What is AMAG?
AMAG and its 6,600 or so employees are passionate about getting people on the move. We are fascinated by their individual mobility wishes and dreams. We are driven by a desire to satisfy their needs. This approach has been AMAG’s outlook since its earliest days. First imported in 1948, the VW Beetle made having one’s own car affordable for ever more sections of the population. Dreams turned into reality. People’s horizons expanded – and they enjoyed life to the full. Our founder Walter Haefner predicted all this as well as the rapid increase in mobility requirements as economic growth took off in the 1960s and 1970s. His visionary strength enabled him to make AMAG the biggest automotive company in Switzerland. (source)
