The private social network Yammer just released a pretty cool feature called ‘Praises.’
Praises are basically badges that you can give a coworker for an accomplishment, similar to the ones foursquare, GetGlue and others offer.
Since your Yammer network is your entire company, this is a great way to recognize an employee in a meaningful way without causing too much of a disruption and/or embarrassing the employee. Not a bad idea.
