Social Media is an area of marketing and communications that colleges and universities should, and generally do perform very well at. Their typical constituency tends to be more inclined to new digital technology and trends, which gives the colleges a captive and cooperative audience.
Here is an interesting infographic from TopCollegesOnline.org that ranks the top colleges and universities on a few of the top social networks and gives a few crazy stats that put the social media activity of the top dogs into perspective.
