The new social website, Likester is organizing Facebook ‘like’ data and giving it to you in an easy and understandable way.
Once a user logs in to Likester, they are immediately given a report telling them the top ‘likes’ among their friends (I cannot believe that the Boston Red Sox are only third on my list!).

Beyond individual friend reports, Likester also lets you find out what pages are trending on Facebook universally and by geographical location. It also has a feature called ‘Likester Idol‘ which aims at predicting who is packing their bags each week on the hit show, American Idol.
Some are comparing Likester’s trending reports to Twitter’s trending topics. There is a very important distinction. Twitter’s trending topics is a more accurate real time measurement because it measures what is being discussed at that moment. Likester measures trending ‘likes’ and, as we all know, people like items for a various reasons at different times. Generally, a Facebook ‘like’ trend reflects their digital advertising and marketing efforts.
That being said, I really like the geographical information that Likester offers and see something like offering value to digital marketers. The more information, the better and to be able to get a cumulative picture of what is popular where may help marketers focus their social advertising efforts to maximize their dollars.
It will be interesting to see where Likester goes and what other kinds of analytics they will offer in the future.
