Always trying to make having boo-boo a little more fun for kids, Johnson & Johnson‘s Band-Aid has introduced augmented reality to their signature bandages and have recruited The Muppets to be the stars of the effort.
Now, when a parent hovers over one of these AR-marked Band-Aids with a phone running the corresponding app, the Muppets on the bandage come to life.
The app, currently available only for iOS devices, features Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and Gonzo singing, posing and doing wacky stunts.
This is truly one those moments when you see newer technology being used in an unconventional way and it totally makes sense. Any parent knows that a minor cut or scrape can be a very dramatic experience for a toddler (and their parents). Having a 3D Kermit the Frog sing “Rainbow Connection” to the child is a genius way to distract them a bit.
