Never ones to shy away from using trendy digital marketing technology to give their campaign a boost, the Obama campaign is now using augmented reality to fundraise on mobile devices and do much more.

Supporters of the Obama campaign can download the Blippar app, hover over a U.S. $5 bill or any Obama campaign logo and unlock a bunch of exclusive content.
Among the additional augmented reality content are options to donate to and volunteer for the campaign and the ability to take a picture of yourself high-fiving an overlay of Obama and then share the picture to social networks.
Now that augmented reality has entered the political world, it will be interesting to see how it evolves and becomes even more a part of campaign digital marketing.
