The TrackMyMacca’s app recognizes product packaging and location/time/date using a device’s camera and unlocks a 3D animated display that includes product ingredients and informational factoids about where the ingredient came from.
TrackMyMacca’s is currently available for iOS devices only and works in Australian McDonald’s restaurants.
With so many other brands dealing with product ingredient scandals lately, this is a decent pre-preemptive action by MCDonald’s to show users exactly what they are eating. This is a perfect example of using technology creatively to support traditional public relations.
