With all of the monstrous numbers coming out from the various social media networks and app-makers, it can be said that 2012 was the year of the Super Bowl second screen.
The latest network to release impressive Super Bowl totals is GetGlue. The social TV app saw 160,000 check-ins, which is a gigantic spike from the 20,000 in 2011.
No doubt that many of these check-ins were influenced by GetGlue’s multiple X-Factor and Pepsi promotions being run Sunday night. It should also be noted that users were allowed, and encouraged to check-in multiple times to the game.
