foursquare and scavenger hunts are a perfect fit. Marketers and brands have been using the location-based network for years to create their own scavenger hunt apps and contests. For the first time (that I can remember), foursquare has actually created their own.
The Manhattan-based foursquare scavenger hunt takes place tomorrow, December 7th and has a great purpose: to rebuild small businesses devastated by Super-Storm Sandy. It is a piece of a larger two-day event, called Rally Downtown, which is aimed at bringing consumers back shopping and eating at stores and restaurants in the storm-ravaged area.
This sounds like a lot of fun and is for a great cause. I only wish I was in NYC tomorrow to participate!
