Mobile Marketer tells us of a new mobile effort that Daytona International Speedway(DIS) is undertaking for this weekend’s NASCAR activities. DIS is launching a new mobile app that is aimed at helping race-goers get the most out of their trip to the race.
Once downloaded, users can view schedule of events, use interactive maps that integrate your phone’s GPS and there is even a ‘friend-finder’ feature that helps you locate your friends at the speedway.
DIS has given app access to a small sample of race-goers to this weekend’s Coke Zero 400 as basically a beta launch and intend to make it publicly available for next February’s Daytona 500.
An app like this is a good digital marketing solution for any event marketer that is planning a large festival-like event or trade show or a manager of a large facility. This is a great way to give visitors a convenient and interactive way to access maps and schedules.
