While many businesses, organizations, and individuals view PR and SEO as separate entities, they have become two sides of the same coin.

Public Relations (PR) is the practice of managing the spread of information between an individual or an organization and the public.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or webpage in a search engine’s “natural” or unpaid “organic” search results.

These practices used to be very different. SEO was focused on broadcasting as many links as possible, and luring search engine bots into websites with little to no content. Now, search engine traffic is derived from content, HTML, and the exclusion of link spamming sites. Nowadays, PR and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) have become more alike than ever.

Major Google Stat Updates and Additions

The 2nd quarter 2014 financial reporting season has begun and an early entrant this time around is everyone’s favorite digital behemoth Google. Although their financials we pretty much just revenue and income, there were also a few interesting tidbits about Google advertising performance mixed in.

Aside from the financials, I also had a pile of Google stats that have been building up. Now seemed as good a time as ever to get caught up a bit, so there are a bunch of new and updated stats now in my Google posts.

Do you remember the movie Universal Soldier from 1992? In that movie, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren star specially designed soldiers from the future who are perfect for military operations and have no emotions whatsoever. What turned out to be a predicting trivia twenty years ahead of its time were the glasses that the universal soldiers wore on their heads. In the movie, their purpose was to receive orders from the base and scan the area and enemies.

Another similar movie example, but only more sophisticated, since it was hidden in the eye of the machine, is that of Terminator. These machines had the environment observing programme inside their eyeballs.

If in the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s these technological features were a mere science-fiction plot, the 2000s saw a different side of it. Today, we have numerous on-the-go gadgets that can be attached to humans body and perform computer-like operations. Although this sounds terrific and potentially life-altering, there is another point of view, according to which these new devices pose a great threat to our intimacy and privacy.
