A Quick Rundown of the Recent Google+ Changes

 

The Google+ team certainly isn’t coasting through the Holiday Season this year. The updates to their 6-month old social network have been coming out fast and furiously and there have been a few cool ones along the way.

Here is a quick rundown of what’s different on G+:

G+ in Gmail

Google has integrated G+ into Gmail. Now you can circle your email contacts and share photos sent to you to G+ without leaving Gmail.

G+ in Picasa Desktop

Google+ photo sharing and tagging is now part of the Picasa desktop software.

New Hangout Features

Last week, Google added a number of new features to hangouts, including starting a hangout from any post via desktop or mobile and the ability to dial-in to a hangout via phone.

Rapid Fire Feature Launch

And today, the team announced a slew of changes including:

  • Filter controls for your stream
  • A new look to notifications
  • The ability for multiple page admins
  • New page engagement tracking
  • A whole new look to the photo lightbox
